How long will it take before my magazines start arriving?
When you subscribe to a magazine your subscription will not start with the current issue, as certain processing times will apply. Here are some estimates of when your first issue should arrive... Australian weekly and fortnightly magazines: 4 - 6 weeks. Australian monthly magazines: 6-8 weeks. International weekly magazines: 4 - 6 weeks. International fortnightly and monthly magazines ( National Geographic): 8 to 12 weeks. Magazines that are bi-monthly and quarterly can take longer as they are released fewer times through the year. If more than this time elapses, we are happy to chase your order up with the publishers. Also, the subscription "starts" from when you get your first copy, and runs for 12 months from then.

Can subscriptions start anytime, or do they run Jan-Dec?
Subscriptions can start at anytime of the year and will run for 12 months from when you get your first copy.

If I change address, who should I tell, Magazines4Students or the publisher direct?
It is better to inform studentmagazines. We notify the publisher immediately, and are in a better position to fix anything if you miss an issue. Also, it ensures you get a renewal notice at the education rate. Most publishers require at least three weeks notice, except for National Geographic, they require between 8-12 weeks.

Does the processing time come out of the number of magazines in my order ie. if the order takes a month to process, do I lose that month from my subscription?
No. If you subscribe for 12 months and that is 51 issues, you will receive 51 issues, commencing from the time the processing is complete.

Will Magazines4Students put me on a database and send me heaps of junk mail?
No. The only thing we will send you is a renewal reminder that your subscription is coming to an end. If you tick the "I am happy to receive other student-related discounts" you may receive around 4 emails or letters per year about other worthwhile discounts. See our Privacy statement.

If I am getting an international magazine and I move overseas, can the publisher send it there?
The following magazines will do this: National Geographic, The Economist and Fortune. Just notify Magazines4Students of the new overseas address, and we will ensure it is changed by the publisher.

Why are monthly publications "slower" to process?
They are just as fast to process, but if your name appears on the system just after the despatch cut off date for an issue, then you have to wait for the next issue to be released. This also applies for bi-monthly and quarterly magazines.

Can I subscribe for a friend or family member?
Yes, as long as they also meet the eligibility criteria. The person receiving the subscription must be a student or an academic member of staff.

When should I renew?
Presuming you are still eligible, if you want an uninterrupted subscription, renew at least 2 months before your subscription ends. No matter how early your renewal arrives, it will automatically be added on to the end of your current subscription.

Am i able to cancel my subscription?
We do not offer cancellations so please choose carefully. We can exchange your order for another title if the request is made within 48 hours after the purchase is made (please see below). Please contact us on 1300 552 100 for any inquiries.

If I change my mind can I exchange my order for another title?
If you have a change of mind and wish to cancel a magazine and apply your refund to another purchase , please note that you will incur a $5.00 transfer fee. Also note that we do not have a cancellation policy.

What should I do if I am missing an issue?
The quickest way to fix this is to contact the publisher directly as they organise your deliveries. Their details appear on the magazine's mailing label. You may be asked for your 'account number'. This also appears on the mailing label, above your name and address. If you dont have your account number, please quote your name and address. If there is a problem with the delivery, please make sure you send notification ASAP as a publisher may not compensate you if a long period of time has elapsed.

Can I put a subscription in more than one name?
No, please put the subscription in one person's (a student or teacher) name only, as otherwise it can get very confusing when Magazines4Students or a publisher is trying to locate your order should you have an enquiry.(back to top)
I don't have a credit card, can I still order?
Not a problem. Just select your mag, print the shopping cart page and mail it in with your cheque or money order. Or, if you don't want to wait, you can make a BPAY payment on the spot, via Checkout. Your order is processed as soon as we receive payment! .(back to top)
